During this workshop you will get information about a traditional Nordic craft, Himmeli. Himmeli name comes from Swedish word himmel, meaning sky or heaven.
You will get to make the most common of the Himmeli shapes; octahedron. There are many more shapes you can make but this is a great starting point.
Himmeli can be made with any hollow tubing, we will be using bamboo for today’s workshop. Traditionally rye straw was used and still is to make Himmeli.
Himmeli can be made with very small tubes into jewellery like items or out of larger diameter tubing for more substantial mobiles. Possibilities are endless as are Himmeli shapes and complexity.
This workshop includes materials and coffee and cake.
Maximum of six participants.
