Willow Bark containers

Willow bark is not used as much as willow whips for basketry. However, bark is readily available and fairly effortless to harvest and strip.

I was lucky enough to attend a workshop led by Anna Mari Vaatainen http://tuhatpaju.blogspot.co.uk/just over a year ago. I loved the feel, look and smell of willow bark. Since then I have been collecting different types of bark and experimented with it.

This workshop will allow you to have a go and make some small willow bark containers experimenting with different techniques. Those of you who have not done any weaving before will be shown easy ways of joining and bending bark into a container. Those of you who are more experienced will also be catered for.

Come and experience the magic of willow bark. You will be amazed what you can achieve with this natural material.
